I agree that he "could have" refused to re-Grimm however that is not the question at hand. I repeat, the facts indicate Juliette made the decision to smoke the hat, Nick only concurred.

New Guy, I have to say your posts are often humorous and for that, kudos. I also have to say that Juliette didn't invade Nick's mind and mentally force him to be a Grimm again.
Nick pulled a trick every single one of us has pulled. What is that trick? The old, "I'm going to let her believe it was her idea all along" trick.
You quoted his conversation with Hank. I'm not quoting verbatim, but am providing just a shortened version.
Nick missed being a grimm, he was pissed it was taken away from him, and he wants it back.
But then, when he talked to Juliette later, notice how he changed the conversation to make it look as though it was her decision:
Nick: I'm only gonna ask you this once. Do you mean what you just said about me being a Grimm? Is that what you want?
Juliette: Yes.
Nick: Then it's what I want too.
Smooth and sneaky and Juliette fell for it hook, line, and sinker. *Juliette* wants it so Nick wants it too. How magnanimous of him.
Juliette can order him to become a Grimm, she can beg him to become a Grimm, she can plead with him to become a Grimm, or she can tell him she doesn't give a rat's patoot if he becomes a Grimm or remains a grimmless doofus.
Juliette's decision was whether or not to be the primary ingredient in the spell. Nick's decision was whether or not to be a Grimm. Juliette can no more force him to be a Grimm than he could force her to be the primary ingredient. To blame her for him becoming a Grimm is ludicrous.
She didn't become a hexenbiest because she chose to be the primary ingredient in the spell. She became a hexenbiest because she went through with the spell as the result of Nick's decision to become a Grimm. It was his fault.
It seems that your opinion about who decided that Juliette would smoke the hat is based on Nick being "smooth and sneaky" and Juliette to "fall for it hook, line, and sinker." Have you reversed them and now Juliette is the doofus and Nick shrewd one?
