I finally managed to rewatch this episode
Yes, the first time I was really expecting a showdown in a near episode. But you can see it already: he didn't want to harm Nick, he was trying to get the main influence on this "new Grimm". When he spoke to Adalind he said that he didn't want aunt Marie to talk to Nick any further because "we need him with us". He was trying to use Nick for his own plans. And he still does.
I just love Monroe in this episode. "It’s supposed to connect with the primitive beast in all of us. And believe me. I do mean all of us." In my opinion, it's the core off the whole series. Everyone has a primitive beast he/she has to deal with. It's kind of wise.
WOW, how can you point out the two worst episodes ever without mentioning "the thing with feathers"? I completely disagree, this episode is cool . It's exciting to see that different Grimm-Fans differ so much in liking.

I remember in Season 1, I was thinking... who is this evil guy, when is Nick going to find out that the Captain is Evil? It shows that we really shouldn't trust him, just yet, even at the end of Season 2.Renard has certainly evolved as a character during the last two seasons. It would be interesting to know if that's what the writers had intended from the very beginning.
