I know that Susan Sarandon and Goldie Hawn have happily lived with their partners for years without ever marrying but we know that was an active choice by all parties concerned. It's more than apparent that Nick considers marriage as a relevant step to take in a serious relationship. Juliette struggled to accept his proposals because she had understandable reasons to hesitate. In Adalind, he found someone who seamlessly folded into his life despite being a hexenbiest. Adalind was in love with him and he loved her equally besides taking a scenic route before he acknowledged that in himself. Another point to note is Nick had open disdain for Bonaparte's ring before hearing that the ring was cursed. His relief at seeing it off her finger spoke volumes, not just because it meant the children and Adalind were safe, I also believe it's one less thing that connected her to Renard, the man she was almost pushed to marry under BC.
