That's right, Sebastian (at last I know his name; thanks, Fuchsbauer, and welcome to the group), did say that. Asserting his authority over Nick would be called for if he is making a power grab for the throne. So far as we know, there are no other real active opponents within the families who can stand up to Sean like Eric did...unless the new cousin will be a troublemaker and I'm sure he will!
I was also thinking Captain has shown very little can make him lose his cool, but maybe he was also making a reference to his being a half-wesen himself when he accused Nick of only being concerned with killing humans. But that sounds out of character for Renard; so probably not.
