Eve's gone through so many transformations now that it must be getting crowded in there, but she's emerged from her encounter with the stick with some kind of special sight. If there is a religious connotation being written into the significance of the stick and it's power, then she may have been purified in preparation to becoming a martyr. That outcome has my vote for a tragic figure who innocently got turned into a real bad guy for many seasons and who will always be one of my favorites on the show - but given what has been done to the character, imo, there's no redemption without laying down her life in the service of others.
Walt Whitman wrote the line "Captain, my Captain" for President Lincoln, and Renard doesn't exactly fit the profile, but there we are. Looks to me like we're going to see the two duke it out next week (which is confusing about the second or third episode promotions). Nick better have that stick on him just in case. I'm devastated but not surprised at how Renard's circling around the drain and sinking into evil. Do think Miesner's representing his voice of conscience, though, so maybe he'll change.
Those symbols on the cloth, which is about ready for a wash and press, haha, are part of what makes me view Eve as a possible martyr. Can't quite figure out the connection, but it's significant that she's the only one who can see them, imo.
No Easter egg this time, shoot. Adalind really should try to redirect Diana interests in a less lethal direction, maybe stamp collecting. This playing with dollies in a voo-doo themed way is getting out of hand. Enough already.
Upper management has charged Renard with getting control over Portland, so they're already on his case. What will happen when, or if, someone takes his prints off that sword, - then add to that the fact that BC enforcers may find out he may have killed their operative Rachel, and they may turn on him. Poor baby. But maybe that SERT group, who look like a bunch of aliens to me, has cleaned up the scene of the crime and got rid of the sword.
Good to see Bud and Franco is this episode. Always thought they'd do something with Franco (thought he was a wesen), but he's seemingly just a good Joe trying to do the right thing as an officer of the PPD.
We're saying a gradual goodbye to Portland and I will miss the mysterious beauty and the woodsy setting of the place. And the priceless architecture of so many of the houses and buildings. And the charm of the old-world feel of the city. But DG did a good job of directing this episode; looks good on the old resume. It would be fun if the other cast members would have done just that for a few episodes; wonder what Bud's would be like!
DG didn't direct this episode he directs episode 3 "Captain, my captain"
