They had it tougher by comparison because of their adversarial history and nature (Grimm vs hexenbiest) and I think because of that initial plea Adalind made after giving birth, once they consciously made the choice not to keep fighting for Kelly's sake, with their attraction, it was a slippery slope to falling in love. They were issues to get past obviously as we saw, but(10-14-2017, 03:40 AM)dicappatore Wrote:(10-14-2017, 03:19 AM)rpmaluki Wrote: Kelly is the reason these two could finally be in the same room together without tearing each other apart violently. OMG, rp your post here is gonna make some Nicolette fans head spin like the Exorcist girl.
I don't even think people who like Nick/Adalind would debate that they would be together without Kelly. Of course they wouldn't be together. The season 5 premiere shows how unsure Nick is of the whole situation and Adalind saying they should attempt to not hate each other anymore for Kelly's sake. It's all there for anyone to see. There wasn't any like, let alone love, there in the beginning. It was only compromise.
Nick and Adalind then lived together and finally got to know each other. There was an attraction but they started to like each other personally. Their intimacy wasn't about Kelly. They genuinely started to fall for another but were still hesitant about entering a relationship. This was more evident on Nick's side and he really didn't become openly affectionate until Adalind going to BC made him face what he was losing and he was shown not to hold back anymore. There weren't anymore "I don't know how I feel about her", which is a lie we tell ourselves because we always know, conversations with Monroe. They acted more like a couple in front of the gang.
In the beginning, I think both of them would say they weren't looking for an intimate relationship with each other. I don't think either one thought it was possible despite the attraction.
just because they had feelings for one another didn't mean a relationship was feasible or even sustainable. With everything that happened leading up to them admitting their feelings, I truly didn't think they would last because of their past.
