Um. There are some shows that had somewhat of a revolving cast.
Maybe the best example of that is Grey's anatomy. However, i can make the argument that this is not the type of show you were thinking of. A lot of people would classify this as a soap opera. And although I'm not familiar with day time soap operas, I do know their supporting casts are constantly in flux.
Anyway in Grey's anatomy, not even their main cast has remained stable for the ten or so years its been on. Some decided to leave the show and some have been "fired". and I suppose its debatable if any of these changes made the show better. But i'm pretty sure that the show itself depends on these changes to keep in interesting.
