I'm pretty sure they've all been marked for death by BC ever since S05 began.
I wonder whether we're supposed to view things like spells in Grimm as magic, or as scientific knowledge that's been closely guarded by those who understand it. I'm leaning toward the latter myself.
The death grip actually introduces the first verification that there really is some form of after-death existence in the reality of the Grimm universe. So has the stick somehow cleaned Eve's soul as Trubel suggested, or is the whole idea of redeeming the soul just metaphysical claptrap and something entirely different was going on? Damned if I know.
