It was Viktor that manipulated Adalind, promising her something that he could not deliver. If the gang had been honest, Adalind wouldn't have ran to Viktor hoping to get her daughter back.

Adalind was tortured and starved in order give information about who kidnapped her daughter. If Nick and gang had told her that the Royals did not have her then Nick would not losted his powers and the royals would not have learned about Kelly.
It's situations like this that make me know the writers are setting up situations just to get high drama - but instead they only succeed at making our 'heroes' look like total idiots. Why did they not find a time and place soon after to tell Adalind in the best way what really has happened and why. Why treat the two highest profile females of the series come off looking like dummies?
