That made me think Ra in Stargate.
I've read and watched so much sci-fi and fantasy over the years, I wouldn't be surprised if I inadvertently regurgitated a plot from someone else.
Chances are whatever plot you come up with would bear some superficial resemblance to at least one other story.
To be fair I was trying to do a spoof between the Ape monolithe scene and Clan of the cave bears, now whether or not I succeeded I leave up to the audience.
