I've been toying around with the theory that Grimm's are wesen, trying to overcome several of the more knotty problems this involves, the main one I see being the lack of Wolga. However, what if the Wolga isn't obvious like other Wesen, but is a manifestation that all Wesen can see, the black eye of the Grimm when another Wesen Wolga's. Being Wesen does explain a Grimm's superior physical capabilities and also explain how they see other Wesen. It would then lead to a very interesting moral question relating to the storied history of Grimm's killing Wesen. Another question also comes to mind, if Grimm's are Wesen why do they appear to have arrived so late to the World, first instance I can think given of Grimms are the Knights of the 4th Crusade which is the late 12th Century, so does that suggest that they were created rather than naturally evolved
