Your post got me thinking about some criticisms I recently read about Adalind. Harshest among them were criticizms regarding Claire's pregnancy being written into the series as a storyline. I was surprised to read how many people felt it a lame way of trying to revitalize a character that should have been killed off two seasons ago.
The character of Adalind does seem to be a sloppily written character, doesn't she? Even the spell to take away Nick's grimm, which really should have been a triumph for her, ended up being a series of failures because she's not a meticulous character. First, after Elizabeth questioning exactly what Adalind did to make the spell work, Elizabeth was able to figure it out and Nick got his grimm back anyway. Second, she ended up pregnant with Nick's kid, and third, Juliette became a hexenbiest, which according to Adalind, she "didn't mean for that to happen".
Why Nick would trade eternal protection for Adalind and baby in return for a suppression potion that, according to Adalind, "might not work" also defies explanation. The situation with Juliette at that point was not so desperate that Nick was reduced to trying anything, no matter how lame. He'd have been better off picking Adalind's brain for a better way of dealing with Juliette.

The series has always been one to associate hexenbiests with sex. I believe the point with Juliette sleeping with both Renard and Kenneth was not prostitution in the least. It goes back to what Henrietta said after she reduced Nick to putty in her hands after just one kiss: Juliette was going to be a lot more powerful than that. Henrietta was right.
