Sure, Adalind want's protection while she was pregnant. It's understandable but at that time being Juliette didn't know that Adalind was there at the moment. It was by random that she turned up there. And I think if Juliette really wanted it, nobody could have stopped her. If she was really the "nasty" Hexenbiest - she did not do it.
Juliette didn't know Adalind would be there but she still threatened and walked towards her after making the threat in the precinct. Everyone there saw a pregnant woman being threatened. They had to take the threat seriously. They can't just assume that Juliette was all talk and wouldn't really attack.
There isn't just one hypothetical. What happens if Nick doesn't stand in Juliette's way? Would events play out the same? Would it have ended better or worse?
You're correct in saying Juliette gets some unnecessary hate here. I've defended her myself but that was when we were discussing the earlier seasons. What she did in the latter half of season 4 is much more difficult to defend. My defense wouldn't mean much if I defended her for everything and when she is clearly in the wrong.
I don't think there's any question in anyone's mind here that Juliette's threat to Adalind was not to be taken lightly. However, even though Juliette didn't attack Adalind, it seems most people view even a threat as horrific because of Adalind's unborn baby. Juliette doesn't get off the hook even though Adalind opened her big mouth to Wu, said Juliette should leave, and Juliette left.
Just for comparison purposes, I'll go back to Adalind's treatment of Diana, also unborn at the time. Adalind not only goes overseas to sell her baby, but threatens to abort it if she doesn't get what she wants. Not only that, but she rubs some kind of concoction on her stomach which causes a violent reaction from Diana.
How is all of this horrendous treatment covered up? Well, Adalind kept the baby, doesn't that make her special? According to many here it does. Even the issue that she still got her hexenbiest in the deal is ignored.
I get why those who favor Juliette are outraged at the imbalance between her and Adalind.
The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.
