As a pretty well read professional who follows the news closely I have a pretty good idea of the good and bad points of the US. I was pointing out that the overwhelming religiosity of the US has not made the people or the country better than others.
Quote:What fence, law, person, people are holding you back? If this country is at the bottom of the heap? what is holding you back? All you need to do is drive back to your country of Origin, unless you live in Hawaii. I can't just drive, I have to get on a plane or a boat. If I was so disappointed about this country and all I had to do was buy a tank full of gasoline and drive, I'd be saying, CIAO.
Not the point of my post at all. My family and I will go where we choose to.

Quote:Something not believed in is not upsetting. The christian god upsets me no more than santa claus or the easter bunny.
So, its not the religion symbols that upset you it's the people they represent. People are people, Symbols are just symbols. As I recall, there were a few guys back in the 30's who also claimed their ideals were right and the others were wrong, Ever hear of Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Emperor Hirohito, STALIN?.
WTF are you rambling on about? I made it clear that it's the actions of many christians in the US wanting to impose their beliefs on others that make atheists angry.
Throwing out the names of Hitler, Mussolini, etc is relevant how? I'm quite well versed in WWII history. But that has nothing at all to do with this discussion.
Quote:Let me enlighten you something about this country from one immigrant (Legal) to another. This country was not founded on the principal of "Freedom from Religion" as it is constantly reported by media. It was founded on the principal of "Freedom of Religion". If I have to explain the differences? It is a lost cause!
Are you insinuating I'm not a legal immigrant? So if I choose to live my life free from religion (which apparently is not my right), is it ok for others to impose their religion on me?
