Face in the Crowd you explained the progress of Adalind and Juliette/Eve perfectly.
When Trubel was first introduced she made a statement that truly explains Juliette's change. As Trubel said after going after the guy running the shoplifting ring. It is hard to adjust going from pray to predator. That is exactly what happened to Juliette. She realized she no longer had to be the victim. She now had the power to be the one to inflict pain. IMO her acting out especially at the spice shop. was a reaction to everyone still seeing her as a victim. She had already told them first Nick then Rosalee, she has come to grip with this is her life. She had begin to see it as a gift instead of a curse. With the manticore that was the last time she was reactive. From then she was proactive. Even when Adalind came over she demanded that Adalind leave then backed it up. That was the same fight where Adalind went from being proactive to being reactive. Her entire outlook changed. From that point on she never initiated and attack or any action against anyone. She was no the pray. and Juliette was the predator. Even though she went into the house thinking she was the preditor and Juliette was the pray.
With each episode we saw Juliette get stronger and more of a predator. Starting with blowing up the guys car that pissed her off. The problem is that attitude was something she was not used to. As she said when she went to the spice shop where Nick outed her to the group. As she told Roselee she is losing herself. Meaning she was having the urge to be the hunter. As for Adalind she got weaker. Kenneth was the first to victimize her. He through her under the bus knowing Nick was the only place for her to turn. Even Nick put her in a position where she felt a need to be complaint. She was willing to do what ever it took so NIck would see her as harmless. We know this by her reaction once her powers came back.
If Adalind had of been reactive. When she went to the warehouse where Diana was. There would have been nothing that could have stopped her from taking Diana hand and walking out. She saw how much power Diana had and that she was willing to use it. Not only that she is a hexenbiest with the ability to move things and blow things up. The way she shattered the car windows she could have shattered all of the ear drums in the place. Instead she became reactive doing what was expected. Yes I know they weakened the character for the benefit of the story. To me it was painful to watch. Especially after seeing Adalind as the arrogant predator. If they had given us a reason why she lost her fight other then to be accepted by Nick. I would have understood the change.
Take Eve,even after she lost her powers. She maintained a proactive attitude. She never stopped being the predator. She refused to be the victim. She never lost her will to fight. Compared to Adalind who to the end remained the victim. She went from one bad situation to another. She was will to complied with any request that was made. From running off to pretending to be a family with Sean. The old Adalind would have never taken that choice. She would have cracked one of her books and unleashed some horrible potion on all those that had threatened her.
