With Sean's rather ambiguous loyalties, I envisioned some final conflict pitting the grimms and the resistance against the royals and the verrat, probably over the grimm treasure, with the key to victory somehow in Sean's hands so he has to make a choice between the two sides, one side his lifelong ambition to get into the royals' inner power circle, the other side his "new friends," which would have included his daughter.
The series finale was a purely action ending, with nothing much in the way of character-based drama. It was always obvious that they were all going to all end up on the same side against Zerstorer.
