Um....no. There was no excuse for Nick's behavior in this last episode. Renard put him on leave. He blatantly disregarded Renard's orders.
I don't see how that works here, js. Nick was not on duty when Hank brought the wesen in. In point of fact, he was on administrative leave, banned from the office until further notice. If you're looking at the military code here, then the more severe rule must be applied, and that is disobeying a superior officer, which is what Nick did.
Because Nick disobeyed his superior officer, men died. In the military, he would have been courtmartialed, guaranteed.
I recall Nick warned the Marshalls. Nick and Hank warned Renard to tell the Marshalls, but he blew them off.
The deaths of the Marshalls is a direct outcome from Renards arrogance. Renard is devoid of any ethics or morals. He only acts in his self-interest. Renard is a disgrace to PPD. The city needs to run him out on a rail!
