Because even the biggest bad-ass starts off as a little kid who is afraid of the dark and needs bedtime stories.
Not all kids are scared of the dark and not all need bedtime stories. I think Nick relayed the story to Kelly when he was an adult. Why it took Nick 20 years to do so is anyone guess. It could be because the Zerstorer was Nick's own demon, and he never had the courage to relay the story until 20 years later.
The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.
