In seasons 1 - 4, the stick was an unidentified object that could be wielded by anyone regardless of their intentions. In S5, the stick was a piece of wood of unknown origin and intent. In S6, the background was redirected as rooted in Grimm legend & prophesy.
But if IRRC, even in S5 & S6 the stick was something the Grimm knights stole during their plundering of Constantinople, not an object created and/or passed down specifically for/by Grimm. Actually, the prophecy warned of a Grimm who would open the portal and allow Zerstörer to break free.
I didn’t take the stick attaching itself to the staff as indicating anything specifically about Grimm/Nick, other than he killed Zerstörer. Diana said the stick didn’t belong in the other world. How she knew and how Zerstörer collected all the other pieces and took them to the other world is anyone’s guess, but it’s reasonable that once Zerstörer was dead the remaining piece joined the whole because the portal had been permanently closed.
Robyn, isn’t this what the writers had to come up with, in response to the keys. According to what I recall, they had no intentions of getting up or past episode 100. They never had intended on going any further with the key arc, and this is what was put in place as a last-minute recourse
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
