The stick and Nick before and after what changed - jsgrimm45 - 11-23-2017
When Nick had just the stick the stick was tied to him, even protecting him from the S.E.R.T. officers. Now some how it or Nick controlling it only took out the officers, none of the scoobies were affected.
If wouldn't let anyone but Nick handle it even Trubel who was also connected to the first Grimm. Nick would have to give the stick to Z but when HIck got the staff it jumped on it own into the staff.
At the 20 year mark Diana handle the staff without affecting her and Kelly also handle it so at this point is still connected to Nick or is anyone Nick trusts able to handle the staff or can anyone else now use it?
Now just because they now can handle the staff would it work for them or only Nick be able to use it's power?

Interesting topic, js. It's refreshing to discuss something other than character motivations for a change.
I recall one of the characters on the show, (Rosalee or Monroe maybe?), commenting that Moses's staff might be part of Z big stick? If so, Moses was actually able to command the staff to work for another. I was just watching a television program about Moses not long ago. When Moses first appeared before Pharoah, he did not turn his staff into a snake. Instead he ordered Aaron to turn it into a snake. So if Moses's staff is part of the Z's Big Stick, then it appears it can be commanded to work for another. I know it was mentioned that Z's big stick could be composed of a number of different staffs through the centuries, so I'm not sure this would have a bearing on who is able to/not able to handle the stick.

It looks as if the stick is safe to be handled by the forces of good. By the end of S6, E13, we have video proof that the stick can be safe to be held by Nick, Kelly and Diana. Nick is a Grimm and most likely, so is Kelly. And since Diana is an offspring of two Hex/Zou Wesen, she must be in good terms with the forces of good.

The stick seemed to be connected to Nick, like it imprinted on him or something. Truble, as a Grimm was able to hold it without consequence until she ran away from Nick with the stick, essentially "stealing" it and I think that's what caused the stick to burn her. Diana was the only other person to hold the stick without problems and she only ever used it to help open the portal for Nick. I think all Grimms can handle the stick and Diana because she supposedly special but the stick "belongs" to Nick and is subject to his will until such a time when he dies and it passes down to Kelly, the Grimm next in line as it's guardian, if grandma Kelly's words/7 Grimm knights that hid the stick originally are to be taken literally that the stick/staff isn't safe in anyone eles's hands.
