Serious wounds for human doesn't mean he as part Wesen, part Royal is in the same critical state than a normal Kehrseite or a Wesen. Somehow Royals seem to have some extra powers and work as catasyst to increase Wesen-powers.
Remember Rosalee in 1.17: A bullet into Adalind's heart or head or any other bodypart wouldn't have worked the way they wanted to break the spell on Hank. Nick had to get his blood into her body to kill the spirit of the "Evil Witch".
My thougth about this cliffhanger was the same. Renard not human, is partly possessed by a spirit of an wizard, his other part is Royal. Some bullets to his chest doesn't mean he's surely dead. It only means, there's done damage to his body, which isn't human, only human shaped. Thats' why I think he's probably changing sides too, because the evil side inside him will probably take over while the good side (me sort of think the Royal) has to recover.
I mean, Nick has super-special healing powers as Grimm, Trubel has them, Monroe is healing pretty fast, so is Rosalee. Renard should too.
After Sean let his own brother bomb into Hell because Eric wanted "his Grimm", I would assume you will see Meisner back in action, putting another bomb under Viktor's butt, when he finds out who gave the order to kill him.
I don't think Meisner will be needed. I'm still of the opinion the king will have Victor killed when he finds out he turned a assassin loose on his only surviving son.
