I agree with you, wesen, that there were strong nuances at the end of S5 and early S6. But the Nick/Adalind relationship had become so muddled in chaotic writing and presentation that I didn’t care by the time Nick stopped pretending to his friends in S6. Couple that with Nick not declaring his feelings for Adalind until after Juliette told him she didn’t want a life with him, I don’t give a flying fig that he uttered the L during an stressful moment.
G & K admitted Nick/Adalind had become couple-like too early in S5. The result was changing Nick’s attitude toward Adalind by making him inexplicably distrustful of her after returning from Germany, and acting as though he’d never trusted or shared intimate moments with Adalind - I’m not referring to the out-of-the-blue sex. Adalind was jettisoned from being cautious that she and Nick not jump into anything before they were ready to being over-the-top distraught that she couldn’t go on without Nick and had to declare her love at all cost.
There was definitely a foundation for Nick/Adalind beyond having a child together. But G & K screwed it to hell and back then slapped a pretty bow on their mess just in time for The End.
About deleted scenes. The only ones I’ve seen posted from S5 & S6 are of Nick/Adalind. Is that because those are the only deleted scenes or the only ones posted on the forum? If there are other character-focused scenes that were deleted to make room for an episode’s WoW, then it’s not just about eliminating Nick/Adalind scenes that makes them look too cozy.
I thought the scene of Nick being scared when coming home to an empty loft then relieved when Adalind came down from the roof with Kelly went a long way in presenting their burgeoning relationship - as allies or lovers - and was more important to the characters and the storyline than a lake monster scene that made the cut. But based on how G & K ran the show, the WoW scenes would take priority over character/relationship driven scenes.

Because he is an idiot?
Bart, If Nick had feeling for Adalind while he was living with Juliette, was not because he was an idiot. He loved Juliette. Love trumps feelings. If you can’t understand the difference, who is the idiot?
Once Juliette climbed her mountain of evil, is presumed dead then becomes Eve, she is out of his life. He moved on. It took a while for him to get involved with Adalind. I am sure, her track record of sleeping with Sean, one or two royals and his partner Hank, put a damper on his attachments progression, but living under the same roof and seeing, who mentioned “Hanging Bras”? she got to him. Where was the hidden feelings?
Is someone re-writing what we saw on the screen and claiming they were watching what they wished again?

Why are you insulting me?
i'm not. I am asking a question. If you are insulted, it's from your answer!

Bart, when I was agreeing with you about Nick being an idiot (which by the way is an adept perception), I wanted to elaborate more and did not.
Was it a signal on Adalind's part when she left the bra out so Nick could see it? There are fans here who say it is. I'm not a male, so I had to ask my husband about this. If Adalind is giving signals (like leaving her bra in conspicuous view), is Nick an idiot for not taking her up on her offer? He agreed that Nick was a total idiot for not taking her up on her offer.

A man and woman who outwardly don’t like/trust each other, forced to share cramped accommodations, unspoken attraction, intimate apparel left out in plain view to entice the man - it’s tried and true cliché beyond the ridiculous.
That said, I got a little excited every time Adalind did or said something that even hinted at her playing Nick and was anxious to see how that scenario would play out. Not that I wanted Adalind to be bad or for Nick to be used, I just really needed some sign that everything that made Adalind an interesting and complicated character hadn’t been expelled with the afterbirth.
If Adalind had any intention of manipulating Nick, his negative reaction to Juliette’s return and positive reaction to being with Adalind would have been her prime opportunity to lock Nick in. He’d already promised to protect her from Juliette and that Juliette being back didn’t change the way he felt about her. The interesting and multilayered Adalind would have considered her catch on the hook with nothing left to do except reel him in.
But Adalind shut it down before their kiss led to anything more, not wanting anything to happen until they were certain it was about them and not stress over Juliette’s return. Adalind could be quite good with the cunning and manipulation, but patience was never her virtue. If she was playing Nick, she’d want to sufficiently hook him to counter any feelings that might still linger for Juliette.

I would say Adalind probably wasn't sure of Nick until season six and even then, it's questionnable since he never told her he loved her. There were secrets between the two of them. Using the logic that secrets didn't work between Juliette and Nick, they certainly wouldn't work between Adalind and Nick.
I felt her giving herself to Nick immediately prior to his departure for Germany was not that of a woman sure of herself, but more an act bordering on desperation.
I find it an interesting contrast between Nick and Meisner on how they view Adalind. Nick thinks of Adalind via her bra. Meisner reminisces of Adalind with baby Diana. It'd be interesting to see how Renard viewed Adalind via memory.
Ah, but, to see Adalind and Meisner together. I doubt Nick would be any more than a distasteful memory if that had happened.

But Meisner never saw Adalind's bra (at least I think he never did) so we can't be certain which memory would have resonated with him. We saw Meisner think (fondly) back to their time together but we never once saw the same from Adalind. She was grateful to him for his help as any person would be but they never made much out of that, at least from Adalind's side.
