I am so happy my favourite show got renewed. It's one of the few shows that improves with each season, sadly the rating haven't reflected that. At least we'll get a minimum of 100 episodes, which is a nice and round figure for episodes.
This is the best news I've heard this week. It even beats out IZombie being renewed. This may be the most underrated show on TV. It's gotten better every season and they've absolutely been killing it this season. Ghost Rider, the LMDs and especially the Age of AIDA have been phenomenal. I give tons of credit to ABC for renewing it. I was resigned to cancellation.
I now wonder how the show will lead into Ragnarok and the next Avengers movie. These guys and the Inhumans would sure come in handy for what's to come but I'm happy with just the show itself without its tie-ins into the movies. I think AOS is just as interesting as the films and in some cases more so.
The show is better than most of the MCU, movies and Netflix combined. TWS and DD1 might be better but personally, this show is at the top of the pile for me.
I would only put TWS ahead of it while it has managed to get on par with DD which is an amazing feat since they have to produce nine more episodes a season and have more restrictions. Both of which dilutes the product. Speaking of TWS, the use of the Triskelion is a nice touch.
Besides Loki, I also think they have the best antagonists. I really think Ward and AIDA belong in the top 3. They're two of the best characters period.
I now have to declare Simmons as my favorite character on the show. The show usually improves even more when focused on her. 4,722 Hours is one of the best episodes of TV I've seen in the last few years. That goes to show how good the show has gotten because there are several episodes in that category for me.
Furthermore, anyone who's looking for great female characters should watch this show. I find them all to be well-written. Even the recurring characters like Yo-Yo who I think is great. I like Fitzsimmons but I'm glad they chose Daisy and Simmons to lead the rescue attempt in the Framework. I'm only up to episode 19 and plan on watching 20 tonight but I have no reason to believe the rest of the season won't deliver.

Coulson is my favourite, followed by Fitz (my poor Leopold, S4 hasn't been kind to him) and then Hunter. This show is probably responsible for how I view the greater MCU as well. When it (MCU) began, I liked Tony, then loved Cap and then the Avengers happened, spawning the show. Before the Avengers, I didn't care much for Coulson and wasn't even that devastated when Loki (co-favourite character in MU and MCU along with Coulson) gutted him on the helicarrier but his intro in 1x01 won me over and I have been deeply entrenched in the SHIELD/Coulson camp since whether it's their MCU stories or just production in general (not to be read as me thinking it's better). I know I care more for the lot on the TV show than I do the guys in the movies although I still love those characters. I'd rather the show last a handful more seasons than bother with which MCU movie is coming out. I know they sell this show as some sort of extended love letter from Coulson to Cap but seriously though, SHIELD is just so far from being anything like Cap or his ideals when you take a deeper look. That's how I ended up siding with Tony in Civil War and I haven't sided with Tony in anything since before the MCU became the MCU, all the way back in the first Iron Man movie. I was prepared for a cancellation but I'm glad to say my little show that could lives to fight another day, SWEET!!!
