Saw the first couple of episodes last night. Maybe my favorite comic based tv show yet. I'm calling it an out-of-the-park home run.
First, I loved that is was in a different time period. the Art department did a great job with costumes, props, and sets. I know some of it was CGI but the overall effect was not dissimilar to Mad Men or Call the Midwife.
I also liked the "feminist" theme. Carter fighting against stereotypes, male chauvinism, and the boys club mentality gave the show quite a bit of social significance.
It also didn't hurt that Agent Carter is totally hot and I love the British accent.
If i had to find something to criticize it would have to be their use of the word "enemy". Enemy states is something that George Bush would say.
In 1946 the US wasn't circumstant. They would just say the Commies or the Ruskies.
The waitress calling Agent Carter "English" (as a nick name) didn't ring true to me either. Americans called the British Brits or Limeys. But maybe she was just trying to be polite or funny.
