In the 1st season, we might have seen Juliette more on the screen than Adalind, but like rp said, she was just a house decoration for Nick to come home to.The comments you quoted don’t suggest that Juliette was or should have been the central character, but rather, that she and the other supporting characters were just that - supporting characters with histories limited to only what a particular storyline might require. The only issue being discussed is that those limited character profiles often leave gaping holes that viewers attempt to reconcile with the characters’ behavior.
Again, as a reminder to the "Juliette Fans". The show central character is not Juliette, it's Nick. Given the order of actors hired for the show, is more proof, to support my opinion, she wasn't the central character, nor a secondary supporting one.
Have your tantrum episodes about how she was written as a character all you want, these are the facts. JULIETTE WAS NOT THE MAIN CHARACTER, CAPISCE?.
However, I do think G & K considered Juliette more pivotal to the show than your response suggests. Juliette was written as a too powerful Hexenbiest to later be relegated to an Adalind-type bad guy role. And instead of killing her off, G & K reinvented the character then neutered her into a less powerful Hexenbiest so she could rejoin Nick’s group.
Well, I base my opinions of the Juliette character to be less significant than some make her out to be based on facts, not on what I wished for. One main fact is the order of the roles were filled. Juliette wasn't the 1st, 2nd or 3rd to be hired. The billing and episodes she was in is another reason. She might have been a pivotal character in S4, where her arc took in more screen time and importance. One season out of 5 does not make her a primary supporting character.
Was she part of the permanent show? Yes, she was, but I am still sticking to my opinion of the FACT, once the actress, playing her role, became a love interest of the main character's actor, in real life. They brought her back in and thats why Eve was born.
Does anyone really think, given the Juliette character lower popularity than most of the other supporting character, she would have been brought back in S5 & 6? If the actress had no love interest with the main actor, DG? To all you Juliette fans, I know thats a hard pill to swallow but reality is, that DG was the main guy.
Like him or not, the actor and the Nick character were more popular than Juliette and the actress playing her. Those are the facts based on how popular the actors were, not on their personalities but how they played their roles.
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
