My problem is that the narrative did change from keeping Viktor from killing all of them in 3x18 to giving Kelly a second chance to be a mother in 4x12 as per dialogue. That is what gnaws at me. Diana already had a mother she loved, who loved her immensely and longed to be with her. Why continue to keep them separated when they had already succeed in keeping Viktor at bay? Hence I keep insisting it was a kidnapping, it may not have started as one because they were trying to protect everyone, including Adalind but it stopped being about protection when they sent Adalind back to Viktor and fostering Diana onto Kelly while knowing her real mother was desperate to have her back.
And I never denied the kidnapping was not a kidnapping. As much as it is a negative term, in this case, to me, it was a positive term. As a strong supporter of the Adalind we saw transform into in season 5 and 6, which I have referred to as “Adalind 2.0”. not to mention, pleased to see her end up with Nick. The first time I saw the episode of Diana being kidnapped and knowing Adalind character to this point, If I was part of the gang, I would have gone along with it. She was still too erratic and untrustworthy to be a responsible momma bear protecting her cubs.
IMO, the convincing moment, where I accepted her as a responsible mom was, right after baby Kelly was born and Adalind talking to Nick, in the hospital, towards the end of S5, E1. The Grimm Identity
Scene: Nick returns to the hospital.
Nick: Thanks for being here. [He exhales and goes to see Adalind and the baby] You okay?
Adalind: Better now. I wasn't sure you'd want to be here. I don't know. Maybe you don't want to be here. But at least you are here. Don't hate me anymore, Nick. For our son's sake, we can't be like we were. I don't want to raise him by myself. And he's as much of you as he is me.
Nick: I don't know if that's good on either side.
Adalind: Well, maybe he won't be like either one of us. I know I can't force you to be there for him.
Nick: I will be.
Adalind: Want to hold him?
[Nick hesitates]
Adalind: He won't break. [She hands the baby to Nick] I thought of a name for him.
Nick: Don't you think we should—
Adalind: Kelly.
Nick: [He looks at Adalind and pauses] Okay.
Also, in contradiction, not with you rp, but some other contributor, squawking about Kelly being a bad mother, for leaving her son with her sister and in turn, saving his life. We don’t see Diana agree with the squawker, when she is asking Evette, what had happened to the other mother she missed. We all remember who caused her to loose her head.
P.S. To all you Juliette aficionado, SUFFER BISCES!
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
