I appear to hold an unpopular view concerning the kidnapping. Saying that the gang did something against our normal world morality misses the major premise of the show. In Grimm we are constantly reminded there is a "normal" world and a "more primal" one. Those wessen/royals/grimms who want to live in the normal world submit to the law and practices we all know. Those who want to live in the primal one live according to different laws and practices. The bears coming of age ritual is acceptable in the primal one but a major crime the normal. The royals being willing to kill Adeline and Renard if Diana wasn't handed over was acceptable in the primal, the Council would never object because it was not against wessen law and norms-might makes right. The royals having already kidnapped/stolen Diana, the gang was acting according to the same rules. No one even knew what Kelly looked like, it would have been easy for her to hide. If Adeline or Renard had fled with their baby, the royals would probably have used facial recognition teck to scan every ID in the US, Canada and Mexico(for starters) to locate and kill them and get the baby. In the primal it is okay to kill and be killed, that's just the rules of the game. Renard told Shaw that suing a Grimm was probably not a healthy choice and he was right!
