If Diana was so important why did someone not meet with Sean earlier. Sean points out Tavitian is working with a mole for the royals. Tavitian deflects this by suggesting that Sean is the mole. Just like Sean said if Sean was the mole Diana and Sean would be with the king and Tavitian knows this. Next time we hear about the resistance is in season 5 when Meisner says the resistance made a deal with Viktor. If Tavitian was a mole but wanted to move up in the resistance him making the deal with Viktor (cannot have children) would make perfect sense. Both would win with the king dead and with Diana away from the royals families. If Meisner believes Tavitian was the mole he would killed the king and give Diana to some other group other than the resistance. It’s all in the interpretation of a scene/event, and what’s motivating that interpretation. Did Tavitain deflect Renard’s accusation or assume Renard was placing blame to deflect it from himself? Kelly and Renard didn’t just betray the Resistance by taking Diana, they put it’s members directly at risk by making Viktor believe the Resistance took her. So why exactly would Tavitian now trust Renard?
If G & K made the Resistance mole an actual subplot or sideline story, the many plot holes might matter, but it was never meant to be anything other than a minor catalyst leading to Kelly taking Diana and Renard agreeing to it. The show always provided an out when the characters did bad things. If Tavitian planned on the Royals getting Diana he wouldn’t have selected Kelly, he would have sent someone more likely to fail. Tavitian’s failure, if there was one, was having absolute trust in Kelly to complete her mission as planned.
