Scooby gang minus Eve and Sean helped Adalind for months with Nick's son. The beginning of season 5, Sean still was not interested in finding Diana. When Sean got Diana from BC he wanted Adalind and Kelly never to see Nick again so that became another reason to hate him. Nick never stopped Adalind or Diana from seeing Sean.
Quote:What obsession? IMO Sean loved the idea of Kelly taking her.
That the decision for Kelly to take Diana was Renard’s is an over simplification. He was allowed to chose to be a part of the abduction, but he was as powerless as Adalind to prevent it. Renard clearly didn’t want Adalind back in his life but did want his daughter until the Royals showing up reminded him of just how much his lifestyle would be compromised. I’m not a fan of how spineless Renard was concerning Diana, but his unwillingness to sacrifice for Diana isn’t the same as loving the idea of someone taking her away.
That Renard didn’t want Adalind seeing Nick doesn’t suggest he had control over Adalind and the situation. BC/Bonaparte prevented Adalind from leaving the house with either child. As Adalind learned soon after arriving, Renard didn’t have any more authority than she did.

She would have killed Adalind and Renard if necessary. Nick wanted Renard on board with the idea so it wouldn’t compromise their working relationship, Kelly was ready to charge in and take Diana by force.
