You said it yourself, Nick's colleagues cheered him on without the real Renard spurring them. They chose to cheer him.(04-23-2017, 11:16 AM)rpmaluki Wrote: They were cheering him because "Renard" specifically called him out for his fantastic work in "solving" the North Precinct murders when he was "undercover" and "determined" that Conrad Bonaparte was the culprit behind it, thereby solving the case. They didn't need anything more than their Captain claiming it on live television. At the beginning of the season we saw that some cops weren't quite thrilled with the idea of hunting down Nick with an order to kill on sight for whatever reason Renard said. They considered him one of their own but because he was a fugitive at the time they did it grudgingly, not knowing all the details besides the fight in Renard's office and his claims over NPP. Nick may not be every cops best buddy but they believed him to be a good cop, sometimes that's all you need.
While it works for you, I can't say it works for me. I found it incredibly fake, especially since Renard didn't personally call everyone together to cheer Nick on when he came back into the office. That would have made some sense.
And to what you believe about the show, that's your prerogative.
