Out of lurkdom to say...
Good reads everyone. I am enjoying the show so far this season. I'm kinda diggin' the new 'open' conflict/dynamic between Nick and Renard. Hopefully we'll see some interesting contention. Poor Renard...I say 'poor' because it just seems that he's this lost soul that has only known rejection, and seems to crave any cause or anyone that validates him as important. I mean, wanting power by any means to prove self worth, is a well...goal. It's certainly worked out politically for a real life demagogue ..but I digress. It's the 'joining a gang to belong' mentality. This is just an off handed observation however; any appearance that I condone his behavior whatever the motivation, is so wrong. Is he the big bad though? Dunno, someone having these manifestation of conscience may not be.
But I wonder, is there going to be a big bad? Does there need to be one? And if so why? And (if) there are signs toward that conclusion, is it a red herring?
Can't even pretend to like Julieve. Her continued robotic mannerisms are annoying and her enduring presence in the lives of these folks are for...what now? What's her name now? Is she a guide? a motivational speaker? A seer? a mare? She dares, she leers, she stares--witlessly.Where does she live? Does she have other clothes? I mean no one rocks a leather outfit like Mrs Peel..sigh...(younger peeps won't know who the hell Mrs Peel ) A little harsh maybe given that I have totally embraced Adalind as somewhat relevant. And yeh, N/A as whatevs, is cool with me. However, I'm thinking that Nick needs to move out of that loft or add some rooms--and furniture! now that his family is expanding.
Much have been made of Diana's power, the capability of it's use for good or evil and now the perceived possibility of it's use against Nick. But I wonder if Nick's wood...um..stick, given it's own (apparent?) defensive practice and it's scope for good or evil, is/would/could/may be a sort of neutralizer for Diana's power? Has this been discussed elsewhere? if so-sorry. Thoughts?
