I agree with you that Nick shouldn’t be required to accept the responsibility of playing ‘stepfather’ to Diana. He does have to consider his son’s safety in a home with a powerful child who doesn’t recognize boundaries. My problem with Nick is that he won’t man up.
If his feelings for Adalind don’t match hers for him, fine, man up and be straight with her, and stop stringing her along.
If he still has feelings for Juliette and wants to see where that might go, fine, man up and be straight with Adalind, and stop stringing her along.
If Nick wants Adalind to chose between living with only him and Kelly or living only with Diana, fine, man up and be straight with Adalind, and stop stringing her along.
