Adalind expected Juliette to come after her seeking revenge and learning Nick was the father only made it worse, but I don’t think she ever considered the possibility of Juliette turning against Nick. Adalind only took the potion to prove that it worked and wasn’t dangerous. She told Nick as much when he questioned her giving up her powers - that she was dead otherwise.
I also don’t think Adalind expected to stay with Nick and Juliette. She was only hoping he would protect her from Juliette, until after the suppressant, and protect her from the Royals. I doubt Adalind had thought far enough ahead at that point to worry about where she was going to stay before or after the baby was born. She was only looking for immediate safety.
I agree, irukandji, that Adalind informing Nick of Kenneth’s plan might have avoided much of what happened. But just as the writers didn’t have Nick and Juliette do anything that would help them work through the Hexenbiest problem, the writers didn’t have the characters do anything that would interfere with cool action scenes as Hexenbiest Juliette took a rip-roaring ride to the dark side, Nick fought her, Trubel ‘killed’ her, and the mysterious home invasion cliffhanger.
