There has been some lively discussion about the fight scene where Nick kills Kenneth. Here is a video, complete with Spanish subtitles:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM4tB3iOdfs
The video is 2:04 in length. At 1:26 Kenneth has pushed Nick to the floor, he picks up a metal pipe and attacks Nick. Nick disarms Kenneth, then produces the Grimm blade, tells him "for my Mother" and slits his throat.
1. As pointed out previously, the fight was hand to hand until Kenneth attacked with the pipe. So up to that point (IMO) the fight was totally fair.
2. Some have said Nick took an unfair advantage by bringing the Grimm blade. So in an even match of combatants if one is armed with a two foot pipe and the other with a six inch blade who has the advantage?
New Guy, what you are missing is this.
One, Nick had Wu deliver Kenneth to him. Kenneth had no idea he was going to fight Nick. And, drum roll, Kenneth was patted down by Wu to INSURE he had no weapon. Nick came to that fight with a concealed weapon 100% sure Kenneth would be unarmed. Kenneth stumbled across a weapon that was in the warehouse and used it. Think about that, it is a huge difference. For one Nick committed premeditated murder. If Kenneth had killed Nick with the pipe he may have had a fairly good self-defense claim...once the weapon was discovered he would have had an excellent self defense claim (in most States, each one is different). Wu is in line for the charge of conspiracy to commit murder
The key point being Nick knew Kenneth would be unarmed going in and chose to come armed and used a concealed weapon. the fact the weapon of choice was concealed is a big deal.
Oxford commas are so totally rad!.
