Just rewatched the episode. I was struck by the number of times Nick and Hank said they couldn't prosecute the wesen Logan because they had no witnesses who saw his face, only his woge form. Guess that's why they sent Trubel in to make a deal to capture Logan for the reward and not Nick, who the brothers knew to be a detective. Don't like to challenge anyone's mental acuity, but those guys were dumb.
But I confirmed for myself that Hank did seem to be discouraged at how they have to do things in stopping crime in the wesen world, right there at the end.
The first time I saw the show, I missed how really important the BC big shot was that was visiting Portland; the one Eve killed. Evidently he was one of the original organizers of the Black Claw, and Trubel said it was a very important kill for HW, too. The two body guards were a Chech national and an East German whose father was a member of the Stasi during the Russian control of that country. And Trubel mentioned the geothermal hot springs in a small Swiss town on the border of the Black Forest when she was talking about Rankin. There may be a connection somewhere there. Because of this background Trubel gave us on these three BC guys, I'm wondering if they were in Portland to try to get Nick's keys.
Turns out Hadrian's Wall is run by a department even higher up in our government than the FBI and they have full funding for this international organization fighting against the BC. Meisner did say that their compound was officially nonexistent and that there were many just like it all over the world. It looks like such a big outfit, as big as BC maybe. Boy, some high security system, it identified Nick while he was walking through the hall. I don't see how Nick and the gang can choose not to join forces with the HW, even if they don't fully trust them. They don't have much of a choice, imo. Additionally, Trubel, who I am learning to trust more and more, seems to be very dedicated to the work HW is doing. Add to that the fact that Meisner, left working with the Resistance (and he did actively support their cause) to take up this fight because he think's it's much more important, and I'm on going to get on board.
Renard's a goner because of that little red head, betcha. She's probably an agent working for Dixon or the BC or both. Hope not because they look good together. Maybe she's another dang Hexenbiest, that's all we need.
If I were Monroe I'd tape that letter Rosalee tore up and read the rest. No trouble with this old flame now, but it's coming.
Anyone notice how fast Trubel talks? Goes with her personality, but I have a problem following her at times; it's an age thing.
No problem, irukandji, I forget almost everything if I don't do something right away or write it down, happens to the best of us.
I remember that episode; haven't thought about it in a long time. Hank's was the voice of conscience and reason that time; good example. But that premise was silly, for sure - Nick would have to get off a shot that even a sharpshooter couldn't guarantee to get the serum in him without killing him; and I think it was Nick's first time using the weapon. Back then they were employing alot of old Grimm weapons, reminds me that we don't see much of that these days.
Since my fondness for Hank goes back to the beginning of the show, naturally I would notice things about him more than some of the other characters. As has been discussed here, of late he and Wu for example, have not been featured as much as in past seasons. I am concerned he may one of original cast to leave and I just don't want to see that happen. I have a sinking feeling that we are going to lose one of the gang as a war casualty; hope it's one of those common fearful worries that doesn't amount to anything.

Panther-I apologize to you as well. I am glad to see you got your thread started.
I've never thought much about Hank. I always felt he was kind of useless because, well you know, Nick had to be there to confirm everything.
I have to say one of the best scenes I ever saw Hank in was when Nick was going to torture the guy who kidnapped the girl (sorry I have lapse of memory when it comes to naming these wesen).
It was kind of a goofy scene because Nick was going to torture this guy with a cross bow loaded with truth serum or some such nonsense.
Okay....I have to stop here. I know Grimm likes to put these cool weapons into the scene, but really, a crossbow? I kept wondering how Nick was going to administer this truth serum without killing the guy first. But, I digress.
Anyway, what I really, really liked about Hank was that he was totally stunned over Nick even doing something like that, which is exactly the reaction he should have had.
Unfortunately, Hank hasn't had a lot of character development. Too bad really. I was wondering what was going to happen to him if Nick toodles off to Europe.
