We don’t really know how Diana is going to play out as the season progresses. Her expression while Nick & Adalind were hugging - was it a little girl angry that mommy was hugging someone other than daddy or a powerful entity angry that her ultimate plans were being compromised?
How much does Diana understand the concept of love, or even care about such things? If she loves Adalind as a child loves her mother, it didn’t prevent her from tormenting Adalind into joining her and Renard. She wanted Adalind with them, and seemed willing to do whatever was necessary to get her there. At that point in S5, it's reasonable to assume that Diana would have killed Nick if he stood in the way of Adalind leaving.
