Thanks, Henry, I just want to add that I don’t have any misconception that I’m immune to being overly passionate whenever I feel strongly about a subject. We all do from time to time and can get a little too over zealous in our rebuttals. Our passion and commitment to an idea isn’t a problem. It only interferes when rebuttals morph into attacks that don’t add to the on-going discussion.
And I've had enough discussions with irukandji to know that she has a strong point of view that's rarely influenced by an opposing argument. But we can either engage in a lively discussion, which to me, is preferable to a quick agreement, or simply state we can't wrap our brain around that line of thought and have nothing beneficial to add.
