It was one of the most interesting storylines and the reason Nick had to go stay with Marie. I thought they could've done more with the rest of the coins.I do very much agree that it’s a shame we didn’t hear more about the coins. But I suppose we need to see it as Kelly’s one ring. Nick’s already got his key(s) to worry about. Still think they would’ve been excellent for Black Claw to offer to Sean for his mayor campaign, though. (The assumption is that there are ten, rather than three. So it wouldn’t need to be these three.) But I suppose if Black Claw had gotten their hands on those coins they probably would’ve found more important things to do with them. It just would have felt fitting somehow, making the mayor thing easier to swallow and easier to resolve. Particularly if they wanted to reintegrate Sean with the Scoobies eventually.
This is probably the episode that made this a must-watch series for me. It doesn't get old on repeat viewings either. Any episode that includes some important piece of back story is great and this is one of the best ones.
The point about Kelly ending up with things people desperately want is so accurate and one I had really given much thought. Her importance to this universe can't be understated despite only making a handful of appearances.
To me most episodes are rewatchable after a while. I have a few that will be difficult to rewatch. But particularly the early seasons are very entertaining for the most part. (In my book, anyway.) I guess it helps that I’m perfectly happy with WotW episodes.
Well to be fair, it’s basically the coins and Diana, not everything ever. But she’s definitely important. I wonder if we should talk Grimm tale Moms. Because a lot of what happened wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for the mothers of Nick, Adalind and Sean. And it’s interesting because in most of the newer fairy tale versions the mother character is often dead or absent. Yet in Grimm everyone whose family we meet does have a mother who’s still alive by the beginning of canon.

He would only have seen that when he got his Grimm, which happens in his late 20s?
Kelly says she was waiting at the house but they were behind the car-Soledad Marquesa and ..-so Nick's father would not have it?. "This supposed friend" was staying with them but Nick does not remember or mention anything about it,nor would it be Rhinebeck- Ne York-
From where, who would be?.
I really don’t understand why the coins would get lost if Kelly didn’t die. I suppose it’s a matter of “they just did, because it’s what happened in canon”.
Werren't the other coins turned in and melted? Weren't those 3 all that was left? Thats how I recalled the episode but not sure.
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
