The seed came to fruition in retrospect, after Adalind saw the whole picture and realized what Kelly did in the beginning had long term effect for the better.I would agree had the show not presented Adalind’s opinion, or lack of a voiced opinion to Nick & his friends, hinged on her desire to stay with Nick. Adalind scoffed at Renard’s promise to raise Kelly as his own, accusing him of giving their daughter away. If Adalind had even begun to develop a deeper understanding of the bigger picture, she would have accepted that as much as losing Diana hurt, Renard assisted Kelly in doing what had to be done. And she would have instead berated Renard for removing Diana from a safe place and bringing them into a dangerous situation because it served his quest for power.
