Again, I didn't state that I thought Adalind was helpless, only that I thought you were describing her that way because she was unable to do anything concerning Diana in S5.
But we can talk about S4. Yes, Adalind was imprisoned and tortured by Viktor. However, Adalind had escaped Viktor in S3 using resources available to her.
Nick and his group derailed Adalind's efforts to get herself and Diana to safety and to be a good mother. Adalind was on her own against Kelly, Nick, Renard, Hank, Wu, Juliette, Monroe, and Rosalee. So we can call her helpless or simply pitted against insurmountable odds.
Despite her circumstances in S4, she formulated a plan to protect herself and her unborn child, followed through and accomplished her objective.
It's in S5 that Adalind being on her own concerning Diana is strange considering she's in love with Nick and wants to established a relationship instead of living arrangements. But strange or not, when it came time to act on Diana's behalf Adalind went off on her own instead of turning to those that should have been a readily available resource to her.
I didn't write what Adalind did or how she did it. I'm simply responding to what aired - Adalind going to BC for the sake of Diana, and if Bonaparte was actually threatening Kelly, she went for him too. What she didn't do was incorporate the help of Nick and his friends.
