Juliette never gave me the impression that she was shallow, addle brained and immature, even if Nick initially hid his grimm side from her. Yes she was a whiner, and very demanding, but I've never seen her radiate warmth or affection. Hence the ice queen persona. It was always Nick who seemed more eager to be with her, than she was with him. To me, she was the Veronica to Archie, and Adalind was the Betty.
You seem to give Nick a lot of credit for hanging with the ice queen and not revealing his grimm side to her. Why would Nick be so stupid to hang with someone who, in your opinion, seemed less eager to be with him than he was with her? He'd be blind not to notice, right?
Gosh, tv shows are imperfect, just like we humans already are irl. If she had thought to try and talk to Nick about him being closed off and obviously hiding stuff, before everything about his being a Grimm, would've given their relationship a more solid footing. But, he proposed before she brought up what was troubling her and he should've known his keeping stuff from her wouldn't go unnoticed.
And Jeez, she's not the ice queen. She's a modern woman who is well educated, independent thinker (but imperfect like we all are), and she's young and has a lot to learn through life experience.
I didn't say she had to be perfect. But she was willing to stay with Nick even if she didn't trust him and turned down his marriage proposal. For what purpose? Relationships are supposed to be built on trust, and if she couldn't trust Nick, why bother staying with him? The sensible thing either one of them should have done was air out their grievances after she turned down his marriage proposal or broke up. Yes, she seemed more cold and aloof towards him, I'm comparing her interactions with the 'new' Adalind. Just because I said she acted like an ice queen doesnt mean that she is not a good person with admirable qualities. It's just that it was Nick who always seemed to make more of an effort for her, than she was willing to do for him. How she treated him when she forgot her memories of him was telling as well, she didn't have to treat him unkindly even if she felt he was a stranger to her.

She was honest with him when she told him why she couldn't accept his proposal. Nick didn't argue the point. By keeping silent, he apparently agreed with her. And really she was right. He was keeping secrets from her.

People watched the show for whatever their individual tastes are.
I stood away from this forum because it seemed many - maybe a core few(?) were wrapped up in the soap-opera aspects of the show. I'm not into that, much at all.
And here is where the circle stops. I have posted this argument on so many threads. We get to see Juliette’s true colors when she is freed up from Nick's memories after the coma. Only Nick, not her personality. The real Juliette was not effected. Maybe that’s why the writers spent so much time on that whole season that I have labeled as a debacle and excruciating.
Maybe they were trying to show us the Juliette we did not experience. We were introduced to her in season 1 as living with Nick for 3 years. This was the person Nick met and his gentleness is what turned her into his girlfriend.
There is a famous line in one of the Marx Bros. Movie. Maybe it was “At the Races”. One of the Bros., Chico is selling books on horse betting at the track and cons Groucho to buy them all. After he is done fleecing him of some cash He turns and says, paraphrasing here; “I gots to find me a another sucker”. That’s the line we missed from Juliette 3 years before she met Nick. Before we were introduced to these two characters.
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
