The idea that the de-grimming spell was based on an STD transmitted by the exchange of body fluids is gross even by G & K standards. That the spell could only be performed via sexual intercourse was sufficiently disgusting and demeaning.
If this is the case I must have totally misunderstood Adalind’s original spell/potion. I thought the potion’s specific mix of ingredients determined what the spell would cause to happen. If a human can become a Hexenbiest simply by using the hat after a Hexenbiest, that seems like a much easier solution to Adalind getting a Hexenbiest than the Contaminatio Ritualis Stefania came up with. In that season the show presented that becoming a Hexenbiest was nearly impossible and required a ritual specifically designed to give someone a Hexenbiest. Adalind even had to prove herself worthy before the ritual could be performed.

Quote:Hexenbiest spirit coming from the Hat makes zero sense given that no Hexenbiest spirit was even used for the potion. The hat was used four times on Grimm, but the show established the hat dated back to at least the sixteenth century. So it makes sense that the hat has been used by many Hexenbiest for many purposes over the centuries.
