Adalind could have performed the spell on Nick, put him in a coma that would result in death, but he wouldn't have suffered emotionally and that's what Adalind wanted.
If Adalind had reason to hate Juliette wouldn't it be for participating in Diana's kidnapping - twice? If she doesn't hate the others for it, why would she hate Juliette?
