On a show called Grimm about a Grimm named Nick, Nick would never play "damsel" for anything longer than a plot point in an episode or two and not in succession. Nick is meant to be the hero on this show. He can have people save him every now and then but he'll never be depicted as always needing saving from a specific person. We've seen Trubel, Monroe, Hank Juliette/Eve, Sean, Wu Rosalee save him, but that never happens week in and week out.
After Juliette found out about Nick being a Grimm, she wanted to help, with and without powers she is in a different place than Adalind. Adalind grew up with her powers and until recently, that was the core of her identity until she realised she could have a different life that she valued more than the ability to make spell and move things with her mind. She was a villain for most of her time on the show (using her powers for evil) so she's never had a desire to work with the good guys at any given time or use her powers for good and now she sees them as in completely negative light to ever want to use them for good. The two women simply have different goals/drives. They find fullfilment in different things and that's okay.
I can't speak for Nick and what he wants because he's an enigma the writers have refused to give a clear direction. He could want the simple life or an exciting one for all we know. He seems okay with both. One thing we do know is that he likes being a Grimm, a lot and whoever he's with has to understand that may mean coming a distant second to that no matter what promises he makes. Juliette was shown to not always being happy with that reality, culminating with the end of S4. With Adalind, there wasn't time to show her happy or not about Grimm Nick since she was more worried about herself (her returning powers) and Diana's return. Either way, the show is past the point of Nick's significant girlfriend bemoaning Nick's job as Grimm and cop. The last season will focus on other things, perhaps Nick leaving the force to be a full time Grimm and being single (a girl can hope) but I doubt it.
