I have always wondered why the show did not plan better how to deal with Claire's pregnancy. In Trial by Fire where Adalind and Juliette fought, Claire was pregnant but barely showing. The next episode when she goes to see Henrietta she is obviously pregnant. Remember there was a large filming break between these two episodes. Even with the over size white coat it was obvious she was pregnant. That is why her being surprised seemed so off and made her surprise seem ridicules.
I think the fight was suppose to be the reason why Adalind was going to be on the run so she could ride out her pregnancy off screen. Then someone got the bright idea that having a kid with Nick would make a good reason to switch Nick and Juliette for Nick and Adalind.
Juliette transition to Eve was smooth. Even removing the trailer fit into the story line.
Adding Kelly has seemed really forced. The conversations while Juliette was in jail would have been enough to explain her changing sides. All of season 5 Kelly and Adalind being in the picture with Nick did nothing. The season would have played the same had Nick been alone. The one thing having Adalind there did do. Was to show Nick actually able to live with a hexenbiest. I think this will play a big part in his trying to reconnect with Evette. But that could have been achieved with his interactions and working with Eve could have explained his acceptance.
The show seems to be built on the creation of these long chain of events. some are explicit. Such as Adalind losing her powers causing the need for Diana. Diana led Nick losing his powers which led to Hexenette. Some are speculation such as. If Adalind had not done the ritual to get her powers back. The taking and restoring of Nick powers would not have created Hexenette. Both ideas make for a plausible explanation for the results. I question would we have Eve without baby Kelly. Like i said baby Kelly seems unplanned or either rushed. Kelly did provide a lot of reasons for what created Eve. Juliette had reason to become Eve without Kelly. But Kelly did emphasize her reason for being angry. Kelly also made a really good transition for Adalind.
