Quote:The GMC annually receives complaints from spouses or ex-spouses, or their friends and relatives, that a doctor has been violent at home or elsewhere toward their ex-partner or children. Each year a number of doctors will be convicted of assault or harassment in a domestic violence context.
As I said there are outliers. With over 1 million 45 thousand doctors in the U.S. there are violent crimes in that profession, however the number compared to other profession is exceedingly low. The only profession that ties with it are actuarial professionals. I am basing my comments on the underwriting tables for an insurer for umbrella polices by profession. The violent crime stats for Actuaries and Medical Doctors is (based on 2014 data) way, way below that of any other profession, by wide sweeping margins. To give you some idea of the magnitude a CPA is 23 times more likely to commit a violent crime than a family practitioner or an Actuary. And CPAs tend to be far less violent than most professions.
In looking at the data it appears police officers have the highest rate of of domestic violence.
Oxford commas are so totally rad!.
