I see your point... But I understand the argument about Juliette knowing about wesen but not understanding the wesen world.
I don’t know if knowing versus understand is the right word to use here. Maybe this is the problem with the argument.
Maybe the right comparison would be between Empathy versus sympathy. First, I will put the definitions of the two words here.
Empathy: the ability to share someone else's feelings or experiences by imagining what it would be like to be in that person's situation.
Sympathy: (an expression of) understanding and care for someone else's suffering.
I will write about the first Juliette, the one that knows about the wesen world but wasn’t a wesen yet. I will take a specific situation, the one about Juliette’s friend. Juliette some kind of forced her friend to say her she is a wesen. If my memories serves me well, Nick kind of told Juliette to respect her friend if she didn’t want to tell her about it… Rosalee did the same.
From my point of view, Juliette showed to her friend sympathy since she showed her that her friend could trust Juliette wherever happened about the fact of being wesen. But Juliette didn’t demonstrate empathy since she didn’t understand how hard is to wesen show himself to a human… the fear of being rejected and things like that… Nick and Rosalee demonstrated empathy to Juliete’s friend because they understood this fear of rejection.
Why?
Juliette wasn’t wesen. She was never reject for being a wesen. This way she couldn’t imagine how it was to feel like her friend. Rosalee in her way had passed everything Juliette’s friend had passed. She knows by herself. Nick is a grimm. In a certain way, he didn’t say hey I am a grimm… because he knows how hard would be for him to explain what a grimm is… Besides that, Nick had seeing many wesen after he became a grimm … and he had seeing many wesens that had problems for being a wesen. He could imagine how Juliette’s friend would feel if Juliette forces her to revel herself for her.
This I way I think first Juliette can have Sympathy for wesen, but not Empathy… since she can’t know how a wesen feels.
But I don’t think it is a NEVER HAPPEN situation. I think that, if the hexanbiest potion never happen… If Juliette keep living with Nick and Rosalee and Monroee and the others… She would eventually have a knowledge about the wesen s that would allow her to imagine how a wesen feels, just like Nick does. But she would be able to imagine… not to be one of them, just like Nick is not one of them.
