But i am losing your point. There has never been a disagreement about the reason she gives for what she did, what she wanted, even how she felt. I am arguing why. Why did the the writers write all of her actions to include deception.
Conrad came to the office and threatened her.
Twice she meet Sean each time he pressured her
Her powers came back.
None of which she told Nick when they happened.
She then left telling Nick afterwards.
Yes the show provided a reason for each. But that does not answer why the writers choose to have all of her actions include deception.
Even the good things she did.
Set up kenneth
the trust me knot
Nick becoming Sean.
The point is the writers have her help but the help involves deception.
If the writer has all her actions include deception, wouldn't that indicate the writers intent is to show Adalind still thinks and acts in her manipulative ways.
We can argue has she changed or how has she changed.
But the way the writers write how she does things. It is hard to see how the writers are not saying she is still a hexenbiest and thinks like a hexenbiest. Even if she has changed her wants and desires.
From there is how I get to why would her actions with Nick not also include deception. That is not to say she is being malicious. It does mean she is actively controlling the situation. How do hexenbiest control a situation, seduction. Something that is shown as being the nature of a hexenbiest.
Now if you have another reason why the writers add deception to her actions please let me know.
Once again this isn’t writers intent it’s you determined to looked at everything Adalind does in the most negative way possible, is she a saint certainly not, I never claimed she was even her metamorphosised version certainly can minipulate and use deception when backed into a corner, BC and Renard basically held her hostage over her daughter and threatend her son and the man she loved she had little but deception and minipulation and the odd spell to use against them, as Claire her self repeatedly stated BC is much too powerful for anything she might be able to do as a hexenbiset.
First of all her hiding her powers from Nick has absolutely nothing to do with minipulation and control much in the same way Juliette seeking out Sean’s advice and telling him about her hexenbiest abilities, hiding her hexenbiest side from Nick had nothing minipulation or control she was terrified Nick would hurt her or want her out just like Adalind was terrified of him finding out.
Should she have told Nick about meeting Sean twice yes but she was even unsure if what Sean told her was true which is why she also asked Nick to look into Diana’s whereabouts and she eventually did confess her meeting with Sean and her fear he my use Diana against her. Yes she should have definitely told Nick about the second mettting with Sean and meeting Diana. However she had just meet her daughter that had being missing for over a year and she was with a Wesen terroist organization and pressurizing Adalind into leaving Nick. Adalind was scared the writers clearly showed that. Also she definitely loved Nick however her and Nick had serious trust issues and before you state that’s what makes them different from him and Juliette. I recall they also had serious trust issues and they weren’t former enemies and were togther 7 years, Juliette accused him of cheating no less than 4 times during the shows run Juliette lied about her hexenbeist not in a malicious way but neither did Adalind and Nick lied about his grimmnes supposedly to protect her though it was more about his fear of telling her.
Also didn’t leave Nick half as cavalierly as you make out, when Diana was throwing a fit demanding her mother go rigth there and then which she could have done but she didn’t beacause she was torn, the writers clearly showed that.
The writers then have Diana teleport in to the fome and tell her mommy where are you where are you yet Adalind still is still torn even when Diana comes back and says mommy I need you come here now, she’s still torn and Diana continues to torture her and calling her.
Then Bonaparte basically comes into her office and basically threatens her children lives and threating to make them orphans. Only then does she decided she might have to leave Nick and she is left sitting in the fome in tears wondering what to do both her and Kelly are crying and she’s saying I can’t take you away from your daddy but I can't lose Diana again either. I can feel how badly she needs me. Then Diana calls her pretending to be Renard and says you’ve ran out of time she begs on the phone please Sean.
Then after all the pressure after all the threats to her children herself threats to make Kelly and orphan she leaves. Yet you claim she’s in control seriously she’s in control of nothing she’s a terrified mother who’s being blackmailed by a vast terroist organization who have her daughter she’s in control of nothing.
Yet even then she can’t leave without leaving Nick a note explaining things. I don’t see anything in that anywhere near approaching controlling and manipulative.
Nick: Adalind! [He looks around, but finds no sign of Adalind or Kelly. He then finds a note from Adalind on the table, and reads it]
Adalind: I'm doing something I have to do. I don't expect you to ever understand what I've done. It's the only way to protect my children. And I don't expect you to believe this, but I love you. I'm sorry.
[The words start to disappear leaving only "I have to protect you" briefly before all words disappear]
Bonaparte: Kelly.
Adalind: Did Mr. Berman tell you?
Bonaparte: There's a word for when you lose your parents. It's "orphan." And there is a word for when you lose your spouse. It's "widow" or "widower." There are many words for many things But there is no word for when you lose a child.
Adalind: What do you want?
Bonaparte: Your present relationship is very unhealthy for you and Kelly. Your future is with us, not with the Grimm. You need to make a decision by the end of the day. Hmm? [He leaves]
As for your other claims she could get Eve to help, Juliette tried to kill her first child and Eve just threatend her episodes ago in what world could and risk her daughters live with Eve attack were ever BC were had Diana.
