Soccer during a world cup - everything but boring!
I'm no soccer fan, but a world cup is something different. In Germany, it's one big party that lasts for weeks till... yes, till Germany's elimination .
It's a funny thing in Germany. You see no flags at all, perhaps on public holidays at the city halls and in Berlin. No private house with a flag on a national holiday, I've never seen a single one.
But when it's time for the soccer world cup, people go crazy, flags everywhere, on cars, houses, cheeks, everywhere! A whole country in black, red, gold, and it means nothing but soccer! When the dream is over, usually at the semi-final, the flags disappear as fast as they came. But 4:0 against Portugal, that's so great, it's party time!
I wish the US all the best against Ghana. And as you could see: Portugal is beatable too!
