Why 20 years to write the story??? - Kathryn Wooten - 04-01-2017

Kelly the narrator who basically says: “What happened in the world that day was either a myth, a legend, or a fairytale and I know it’s true because my father told me.”

20 years after the incident. why did it take so long after he grew up to finish the story???
unless Nick finally told him when he was 20...

Maybe Nick did not want to talk about that day. Remember everyone died. Nick may have not wanted everyone thinking they owe him their life. If Nick had not won that fight they would have stayed dead. Why would Zerstorer keep his promise if Nick had given up the stick.

True Kelly was there but he was much to young to know and remember what happened. Diana on the other hand knows exactly what happened. Plus she was old enough to understand and remember what happened. Nick may have asked her to not say anything.

After the reset Diana made a couple of statement that should have raised questions. Even the way Nick was acting should have raised questions. Nick explanation of when he was on the other side he envisioned what it would be like if he lost everyone was as lame as could be. But a lot of the excuses on this show have been lame yet everyone bought it.

It would have been nice if at the end Diana and Kelly woged out to answer the question what the two kids grew up to be. Diana just glowing her eyes was also strange. Adalind or Eve do not have to woge to move things.

It's likely that Kelly has only recently taken on the mantle of Grimm. Those powers don't often manifest themselves until later and it's mentioned in an earlier season that female Grimm's often come into their own faster. Nick was in his late twenties before he saw his first Woge. Kelly is barely out of his teens (perhaps being part Hexenbeist accelerated the process). This could very well be his first entry. A story he's heard a million times and a good way to mark his official entry into the family business.

The Grimm books were not diaries, they were reference books on how to identify and kill wesen, and in some cases, how to identify wesen who shouldn't be killed. If Nick continued to use them in the traditional way, he might have just made an entry about what Zerstorer was, his characteristics and what it took to kill him, and now that Kelly is writing in the books he decided to add in "the rest of the story," even though it doesn't quite fit the traditional pattern.

Yes you would think Nock himself wrote about Zerstorer..after a little while maybe a few months..but it do seem after a experience like Nick had as he usually does would write about Zerstorer after he tells everyone why he so emotional
